It’s possible that Bach isn’t really talking as Bach when he told Ichigo what he did but rather the thoughts of the Soul King, as Ichigo’s Father, in a way either a Father to all living beings or a Father of all Quincy. Think of religion in a sense, we all know sadly there are ones where woman don’t have much respect as the men, they are looked down upon, as slave to men’s desire. In Bach’s case he sees himself as creator of all Quincy, the Quincy were born to support Bach, their ideals and personalities mean nothing to Bach as long as they fulfill their purpose in life to him. That is what makes Ichigo/Uryu the oddity though, Bach always had the power to relinquish Quincy power from those who were corrupted or half blood and yet as omnipotent as he believed he was, for some reason those two managed to survive his purge. This chapter serves as that narrative to setup the next chapter, what’s interesting though is wondering how strong Ichigo is now. I feel like Kubo was drawing compassion to “Lust 6” when Rukia picks up on Ichigo’s reiatsu and that was while he was in that hollowed form. It’s possible what Kubo is trying to say is that Ichigo now is as strong as that time, or that the “hollowed” form of Ichigo which turned out to be Ichigo’s actually Zanpakuto spirit is what his true power is. So Rukia could be thinking it’s just like that time with Ulqui but in reality it just represents that that power we saw back in that fight is what Ichigo’s true power is not what Ichigo thought was a power he was borrowing from an evil source. Pretty much what Bach is saying about Ichigo’s “True Original Power” is that when he turned into that hollowed beast that fought Ulqui, that is his power, it isn’t borrowed power he was taking from elsewhere, it was his Zanpakuto’s spirit desperate to keep Ichigo alive.

There is something that bleach 665 I see a lot of people is missing when referring to Aizen and comparing him to Urahara. Yes Aizen’s reiatsu is monstrous but (and this is a big BUT) Isshin put Aizen to his shinigami’s limit. Aizen acknowledge Urahara’s intellect and was “afraid” of Shinji back when he was his VC. That being said my analysis is that Aizen was in fact a very powerful Shinigami but is thanks to the Hogyouku that he gets such a monstrous power.

When he “defeated” Shunsui fighting the Captains in the FKT arc I always though that it was kind of exaggerated to give Aizen even more credit as a villain (which is normal) but then again his advantage was always KS, also he didn’t fight Unohana and prepared a countermeasure to Yama, why? because he could not beat them i don’t think Aizen reached his limit just due to Isshin. he had also just finished disposing of all the other G13 and Vaizards, some of which he used KS and some he didn’t. he made it look easy, but it could have tired him out. he even received small injuries (small cut from Shinji- the first blood we ever saw somebody draw on him, he escaped Yama’s kido but not before taking some damage from it, and then he took a big hit from Ichigo, which we saw get healed/regenerated). even as he admitted to being at his limit, he seemed fine, he wasn’t breathing heavily, but i suspect he was worn out and he simply showed no panic because he had the hougyoku and knew he could be healed. i also don’t think Aizen had anything to really fear from Unohana. his KS would make it so he would never have to face her in a straight up sword fight, which is where she is deadliest. Yama on the other hand, it is clear that he did not want to fight, nor did Bach. they both took extra measures to keep from a fair fight with Yama.

So yoruichi’s changing reiatsu was not so much a perfect counter for good old askin as we thought because even then askin could use his volstandig to eventually cancel out every pattern yoruichi has. That sounds like the sort of thing that should have killed urahara on the spot… I guess this is And finally the bankai… My only complain here is that we don’t really now what urahara’s shikai does. We have seen techniques but it seems completely random. So far shikai usually have a sort of defined ability which can have broad applications. Perhaps his bankai will give us some context about what his shikai is. i wonder that as well. i don’t think he actually summoned a gigantic princess, i imagine that is just the zan spirit and cool imagery for the reader, like Shunsui being held by his. anybody else notice how boney-thin her arms appear to be? along with the “blood” shikai abilities, i think this princess is going to be a creepy, morbid lady. would be cool if she got all dark and yokai, with a hannya demon/oni face. could fit in well with the “are they/aren’t they” relationship between Urahara and Yoruichi as well, well hannya usually centering around jealousy and possession.

Urahara isn’t using her to an extreme….its more of an exaggeration of the dynamic between polarising and highly playful male/female relationships you see in real life seeing as this is a manga and people dont tend to transform into lightning cats in real life, people do however when really intimately close, act almost as they can cross the usual boundaries of the person in ways that anyone outside can’t since when that close they feel they (within specific contexts usually sexually or intimately with this just being an extension of that) are part of the other person so they’ll influence each other in more overt manners that those who are not so close dont and without the residual hate or resentment after often recognising it as a sign of playfulness since they too overall also give themselves to their partner. I mean they’re tried this experiment and form before too. She might dislike it but they’re still together. And that relationship will be explained soon I recall reading in an interview. He’s not treating her bad in the way Mayuri treats Nemu does. Her strength is probably above Urahara’s too given he’s also relied on her to fight the opponent before in the case of Aizen with the armour her provided her. Urahara, thinking that she would defeat Askin (given by his comments towards the end about making sure he’s dead) chose this as the most probable and likely way to win. So it makes sense to have gone down this route. The transformation is pretty funny too, seeing such changes in her behaviours. I mean she has actually become in some ways more of a cat, personality wise, than how she was in SS Arc. I dont think the humor was inappropriate either — its probably the best way he could have reeled in a cat who’s mood is changing 48 times a second lol. Plus they always use humour in serious situations in bleach both in the Ulq + Yammi fight and then even in the fight against Aizen out of all people. The entire thing has just been an one-off exaggeration of their entire relationship so far how playful they are, how their roles switch, their team work, they way they tease, how polarising one individual is over the other.

Chad is fighting statues made of rock and sand…. it’s almost like the ground is rising up to pummel him into itself. Why has his lover turned on him? Maybe it was always truly a one-sided affection. I don’t get the 180 degree turnaround here for Ishida. He goes from “run away” to “stay here and take out Yhwach” and from to in like … two panels. I guess this is related to his sudden realisation that Yhwach is currently powerless because Haschy is the Almighty right now, but how come he didn’t already know this? I’ll be curious to see what Uryu’s particular insights into the limitations of “The Almighty” are. It seems odd that he thinks he knows more about it than Haschwald does. What does “that look of shock on your face” refer to? Anyone got a panel with Haschwald looking shocked? Because I can’t see one… Anyway, Ishida got his bow out like a boss. And Orihime cried for him. And Ichigo got permission to go kill Yhwach so now doesn’t need to beat Ishida’s head in. I’m assuming as long as he gets to beat someone’s head in he’s cool with that. Everything seems to be rushing towards a conclusion now. I’m not sure why the pacing of this series is so terrible, but I’d rather have rushing than laborious extended boring fight scenes any day. Bring it on.

I presume that this act of sabotage was Ryuken’s idea in council with Isshin and not Uryu’s. I doubt that these two who have kept so many secrets from their children for so long would start being candid and open with them now. Rather, they knew that a) Uryu & Ichigo would be targeted by the Wandenreich, b) Ichigo would refuse them, c) Uryu’ uniqueness would allow him to enter His Majesty’s intimate circle (zing), and d) Ichigo’s quincy blood would react and awaken through constant battle. Isshin knew that Ichigo was in the Hououden and that he was ultimately rejected, which is pretty suspicious in and of itself, so I reckon he was preparing for that moment where he’d give Ichigo the key to unlocking his power to move him foreward in the same way that Ryuken prepared Uryu for his contact/infiltration by giving him the the key to foiling the Wandenreich’s base.

My prediction is, Haschwalth will use psychological warfare on Uryuu and Ichigo. He is an ancient being who has been around a master – and Bach is a master of manipulation – for a 1000 years.

I was not expecting to see Ishida at all in this chapter let alone an Ichigo/Ishida reunion. It was very refreshing to see these two characters again. Not only that, we got a flashback with Ishida which I have been waiting for for a long time. My prediction is that either Ishida will reveal that he is not a traitor to Ichigo and Haschwalth or something big will happen that causes even more tension between Ichigo and Ishida. If the latter happens, only then can I see Ishida officially siding with Ywach. (Out of stubbornness and Quincy pride.) It was also nice to see Momo. I hope the next couple of chapters might focus a little bit on the relationship between Momo and Toushiro.

I still believe Uryuu joined because Haschwalth knew exactly what to say, what buttons to press, to get Uryuu to follow him into the Wandenreich. And I believe Haschwalth, also with the help of the Almighty, will know exactly what to say, how to goad Uryuu and Ichigo into a deadly fight. One possibility is: Haschwalth was framing Uryuu because he wanted an excuse to kill him. He knows that Uryuu is a potential danger to Bach. Bach is asleep right now and can`t stop him. Haschwalth knows that Bach wants to use Uryuu for some purpose he is aware of. To get rid of Uryuu who is a threat but also a rival when it comes to being close to Bach, he has to do this now. Bach can make use of Uryuu any time now. About the autopsy: This was not about investigating a known human illness. What killed Katagiri was rooted in her Quincy side. A human doctor who has no idea what a Quincy is, who is spiritually blind, is not qualified to find the answers Ryuuken was looking for. As I also said in my review, I am not blaming Ryuuken at all for performing an autopsy. I am blaming him to be so thoughtless, so careless to leave the door open that made it possible for his young son to watch and be traumatized. And after Ryuuken realized this, he didn`t seem to care. Ryuuken`s wife is dead. His son is alive and needs him. But instead he was basically treated as being invisible, being abandoned. This flashback certainly turns his encounter with Mayuri and the knowledge what he did to his grandfather as well as so many others even more serious and his reaction became even more understandable. I was wondering before and I am definitely wondering now, how Uryuu would react if he encounters Mayuri and his even more monstrous Bankai now.

I’m surprised the Vizard attack didnt do much, I’m guessing it was because of Gerrad’s shield. Valkryie is pretty damn strong man, I didnt think it’d be that much of a difference in his power change. Did he actually take them out like Mask KO’d them or they’re just temporarily down? Hitsuygaya in a quincy outfit looks toooo sick bruh!! I’m so happy to see him like that, watch how he uses the entire ice of the whole Royal Realm. He might be the only one to be able to fight Valkryie alone properly due to his manipulation of the surroundings. Boom! Now I bet Hisagi will just come out of no where at one point and just attack Valkryie with his Bankai at one point to give them one small window of opportunity. Man this reminds me of One Piece where they fought Oz as a giant and they had to work as a team because he was so over powered. Weird though because I dont see how Renji and Byakuya’s Bankai wont be at least strong enough to do major damage since they’re so powerful too.

I thought. Askin’s thing went pretty much as expected. Not sure how Yoruichi might get out of that one. But I will be honest about the ending – Hitsugaya returning is probably the least exciting thing possible for me. I don’t even hate him, I just am not interested in him at all. I was getting kind of happy too see the Vaizards performing, I mean, I didn’t expect those attacks to actually do a thing to Gerard, but I was thinking they might at least be the ones to give him a fight. Actually slightly irked that Hitsugaya came and nicked their spotlight. Also not sure how he managed to stop Gerard’s arm when Senbonzakura (possibly Kageyoshi) didn’t even phase him.

I’ll say this for him, he wears the Wandenreich uniform well. Still though, it seems to me that ice is about the least useful thing to use against Gerard, except for the fact that it can be used to immobilise him rather than damage him and feed his powerups. I wonder if the fact that Wharwhelt is all icy is going to aid Hitsugaya though. Or rather, the fact that the whole place is floating in some endless sky, given that he uses the weather in his power. Regardless, point is I don’t really see how he can win this one.

Actually, the Vaizards turned up, but Urahara is still nowhere to be seen. In fact, how many people did Lille actually shoot down before Shunsui got in his face anyway? And now that I think about it, did Mayuri ever cure Kensei and Rose? If anyone needs a chance to actually win a fight, it’s those two.

I have a feeling there was a scene somewhere where she wasn’t able to because she’d used her ability on the others, but that in itself implies she would be able to heal herself…I don’t see why she wouldn’t be able to heal her own body, though? I think this hinges on whether Askin says at the end, “your reiatsu”, meaning these two only, or all reiatsu. The scanlate suggests the former, which basically means they can’t use reiatsu attacks against him, but pretty much anyone else can providing their reiatsu is not the same. UNLESS Askin meant “your” as in “shinigami”, which is a different problem. Possible solutions to this – bringing out the sword and fighting with a blade instead? It might be an excuse to see Yoruichi’s zanpakutou at long last, although it’s not totally clear yet whether Askin only means shunko related reiatsu but from all opponents, or whether he means all reiatsu from Yoruichi and brother, but not necessarily all reiatsu from anyone else, including Soi Fon’s shunko. I’m really suspicious about reading characters on first impressions, as well. I realise this is Yuushirou’s second appearance, but in terms of this chapter, all the crying and the apparent unawareness of the situation is offset by two important bits of evidence in my opinion. The one is what Askin picked up on – Yoruichi ONLY JUST taught Yuushirou to use Shunko. Yeah, Askin’s the wrong opponent to use it on, but Yuushirou’s clearly extremely competent with his spirit power. The other is that Yoruichi doesn’t send her brother away. For all the banter and teasing and tears between them, she’s not undermining Yuushirou in any real sense. And, if you look at Yuushirou’s behaviour, his demeanour and his expressions towards his sister and towards Askin are completely opposite. That flash of noble pride (even if it didn’t end as he expected it) proves he has more depth to his character than just the gag character shoved in to provide a funny scene between siblings. I don’t know if he’s a great and long term important addition here, or if he’s a part time character here to showcase something we’re not really aware of yet – but I don’t think we should dismiss him just yet. All of that said, Askin’s slick dialogue still rocked this chapter. And I don’t even like Quincy, so that’s saying something.
